Step-by-step Android Auto Setup Guide

Available on all Ford models with the SYNC 3 multimedia system, Android Auto is the best way to connect your Android device to your new Ford. Follow this easy step-by-step guide, or watch the video above to pair your Android device to your new 2019 Ford with Android Auto.

  1. On your Android device, download the Android Auto app from Google Play.
  2. Enable Android Auto on your SYNC system by pressing Settings > Android Auto Preferences > Enable Android Auto.
  3. Connect your Android device to your Ford USB port using a manufacturer-approved USB cable. Check your owner's manual for an exact location.
  4. When prompted on your SYNC 3 multimedia screen, press Continue > Agree. You may also receive a prompt on your Android device.
  5. Your Android device and Ford are now connected via Android Auto. Your SYNC 3 multimedia display will now switch to Android Auto when connected to your Android device through USB.
